Camping le Cernie first saw the light of day in 1970, founded by Claudio Sileoni, a diving enthusiast born in 1945 and still at the helm of the enterprise. It was initially conceived as a base for diving adventures, and for that purpose an air compressor, the first of its kind in Ogliastra, was acquired.
Later, as our customers' needs changed, we developed our set-up, making it increasingly comfortable and endeavouring to anticipate market demand.
Making use of our considerable experience, we have selected our clients, bringing levels up to the highest of standards.
This is no place for rude or trouble-making holidaymakers: our structure is particularly suitable for families and children, while it retains the student and sporting spirit typical of the sort of holiday you have chosen.
Because of our attention to detail, we have rejected the possibility of outsourcing the running of bars, restaurants and rental services to outside operators, since we would not be able to guarantee a service that took guests' general interests into account. Pitches, almost all of which are shaded, can all be hooked up to 2A 220-volt power points, only for EEC-approved connections, and afford easy access to a drinking-water fountain. We also have ''Millennium'' pitches for Caravans or Campers equipped with individual hook-ups for water, electricity, satellite TV with foreign channels, sewage water, and with brick paving in front of the vehicle; small daily supplements are charged for these services.
We are proud of our restaurant, which offers out-of-the-ordinary quality and service for a Campsite. You will be able to choose from a vast menu, with typical seafood and traditional dishes at modest prices in relation to the quality of food served. There are also daily offerings of dishes to be eaten in one's own accommodation. There are also interesting half-board combinations which, if combined with the hiring of a caravan, you can get at rock-bottom prices.
We also have a bar with annexed TV room, also with German or English channels, and an Internet point.
The beach next to the Campsite is sandy and quite wide (35 metres).
As it serves only campsite users, it is always uncrowded, with the campsite extending down the beach.
It is endowed with a plastic walkway that conforms to standards for the transport of disabled persons, it also has cold showers and is lit up at night. The water is deep close to the shoreline, so that children do not wander too much, as happens on beaches with shallow waters, and can be kept under control.
